Wine Art

Question:

I am in the process of decorating my wine room with some wine related art.  The types of things I am looking for are picture/posters/maps of the California wine country or other wine related art.  Does anyone have any ideas about where to find such things?  Any ideas are welcome. Thanks, Paul

Paul: I have had good luck when writing directly to the vintners whose wine I enjoy.  They love the "fan" mail and usually comply with something or other, i.e. a poster or suggestions of how to purchase one. Good luck! Maureen

Paul I’m up for making wine art. I may be in wine country in early fall with a film crew, we could definitely do some stills at the same time. Especially if I knew other people would be interested in them. JB

You should check out the Wine Enthusiast Magazine:  they often have items of art and reproductions available there.  Also, check out old poster shops (if there are any in your area) – they’re a great source.  Here in Boston there is one on Newbury Street where I’ve found menus and wine lists from the twenties, etc….

Paul, I am an artist working in Napa Valley and if you interested in original art based on views of the wine country I have just completed some beautiful new work – landscape pastels of vineyards of the area. If posters and maps are more the direction you are going then I suggest you contact the Napa Valley Museum in St. Helena. 473 Main St. St. Helena. PH:707/963-7411. They have quite a collection of cards and posters and prints based on the Valley. Good Luck. Steve
